The Gordon and Ruth Gooder Charitable Foundation

two people putting their hands together to make a heart shape

Centennial College remains steadfast in supporting students throughout their educational journey, both inside and outside the classroom. Through mentorship, financial assistance, and experiential learning opportunities, we help students gain the skills, confidence, and competitive advantage they need to succeed after graduation and secure meaningful employment. We deeply value the partners who support these initiatives and share our commitment to empowering students and contributing to their personal and professional success.

The Gordon and Ruth Gooder Charitable Foundation has made an impactful investment of $102,000 to support Centennial College students enrolled in Skilled Trades and Nursing programs – two sectors that play a critical role in meeting Ontario’s growing workforce demands.

This funding will provide financial support to 83 students participating in unpaid Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) placements, enabling them to gain valuable hands-on experience in their chosen fields. For many students, financial barriers can make participation in these mandatory placements difficult or even impossible. Through this generous support, students will be able to offset living expenses, continue supporting themselves and their families, and fully engage in experiential learning opportunities that are essential to their education and career development.

By removing financial obstacles, the Gordon and Ruth Gooder Charitable Foundation is helping students build the skills, confidence, and professional experience needed to successfully transition into meaningful employment while strengthening Ontario’s future workforce.

At Centennial College, we know that talent and determination should never be limited by financial circumstances. Thanks to the generosity of the Gordon and Ruth Gooder Charitable Foundation, more students will have the opportunity to gain the practical experience required to complete their studies, launch successful careers, and make meaningful contributions to their communities. This investment is more than financial support; it is an investment in students, in workforce development, and in the future of Ontario. We are deeply grateful for the Foundation’s partnership and its commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
