Ontario Job Grant (OJG)

Funding Available for Ontario Employers

The Ontario Job Grant (OJG) helps Ontario employers invest in workforce training by providing financial support for eligible skills development programs delivered by approved third party training providers, including Centennial College. The program supports both existing employees and eligible new hires, helping businesses develop the skills needed to remain competitive in a changing economy.

How much funding is available?

Eligible employers may receive:

  • Up to $10,000 per employee for eligible training costs.
  • Up to $15,000 per employee for employers with fewer than 100 employees who are training eligible new hires who were previously unemployed.

Eligible training costs may also include:

  • Up to $500 per trainee for required textbooks, software, tools and training materials.
  • Up to $500 per trainee for eligible travel expenses when applicable.

Employer contribution

Employer contributions depend on the size of the organization:

  • 100 or more employees: minimum 50% contribution toward eligible training costs.
  • Fewer than 100 employees: minimum one sixth contribution.
  • Fewer than 100 employees hiring previously unemployed new employees: no minimum employer contribution is required.
