The Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) certificate program is a tuition-free academic upgrading undertaking that offers college and career preparation, helping you reach your academic goals through essential skills training.
You must complete four credits to receive your ACE certificate. These will include mandatory English and mathematics, along with biology, chemistry, self-management or digital literacy electives.
Program Highlights
- Courses in ACE are 14 weeks in length.
- The courses are facilitated in a supportive learning environment.
- Thanks to small-sized classes, there are opportunities to interact with your fellow peers as well as encouraging and dedicated faculty.
- Mentors will work closely with you to help you determine appropriate career and post-secondary goals.

Education Pathways
Successful completion of ACE courses may meet admission requirements for college‑level programs, including at Centennial, and satisfy employment requirements for Grade 12 equivalency. Successful completion of the ACE certificate allows students to register for apprenticeships.

Academic Requirements
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person (with Decision Document)
- Ontario resident
- Age: 18 or 19 by first day of classes
- English language proficiency Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 6
How to Apply
- Contact our office and obtain instructions on how to get your student ID.
- With your student ID, register for the SKILLSMARKER placement test by emailing our office.
- Your test results determine placement into the right level of course.
- Prior to the start of your semester, you will be invited to a mandatory program orientation session: you will need to bring your SIN card, fill out our registration form and receive your timetable.
