| Description | This course builds upon the theoretical and practical concepts developed in NET120 (Introduction to Switching and Routing). It provides an in-depth understanding of the role routing in building local area networks and internets in large scale and global business operations. Theoretical and practical concepts of OSPFv2, OSPFv3 and EIGRP routing protocols are explored in detail. Students will examine various WAN technologies and learn the concepts, features, standards, and operation of different WAN protocols, along with their benefits, limitations, and implications for enterprise network design in a business environment. Students will also learn how to maintain the security of a network by using Access Control Lists (ACLs) and VPN. Students explore the advanced operation of switches and routers in a lab environment and expand their knowledge of advanced networking protocols. Working individually and in teams, students will configure advanced protocols in various networking environments and analyze their responses. |
