| Description | Field Placement is a core component of Social Service Work education, giving students the opportunity to apply theory to practice within a social service agency while working directly with individuals, groups, and communities. Building on the foundation of SSWR 304 –- Field Placement 1, this final placement increases students’ responsibilities from 2 days per week in Semester 3 to 3 days per week in Semester 4, enabling them to demonstrate advanced competence and readiness for professional practice. Students are provided with an opportunity to take on a more leadership role in the agency, including more direct client contact (individual and/or group), and actively participate in agency programs, services, and activities. Students are expected to conduct themselves as emerging professionals, meet higher-level practice expectations, and contribute meaningfully to the agency environment. This final field placement experience prepares students for entry to professional social service work practice across diverse sectors and communities. Course Learning Outcomes:
