| Description | This course introduces the pharmacy technician student to an expanded scope of practice, including vaccine administration and point-of-care testing. Utilizing NAPRA’s Model Standards of Practice and Principles of Professionalism as a framework, students will develop a variety of professional skills and techniques with a focus on interprofessional and interpersonal communication. Developing these skills will prepare the pharmacy technician student for the growing role and expectations of the profession, and position themselves to collaborate effectively with other health care providers within the circle of care and communicate with the diverse, multicultural patient population in Canada. Students will demonstrate their skills through a variety of activities including knowledge assessments, practical assessments, reflections, case studies, and presentations. Prerequisites
