| Description | Building on the knowledge and skills developed in semester one, Pharmacy Dispensing Practice II will enable students to further develop their skills of assessing, evaluating and trouble-shooting advanced prescriptions and case studies associated with the community pharmacy practice setting. Exposure to provincial and private insurance plans and their adjudication processes and policies will be available through practical prescription applications using pharmacy software and individual assignments. Emphasis will be placed on students to increase their proficiency when preparing prescriptions for dispensing while reflecting on the technicians’ scope of practice in error prevention. Opportunities will be provided for the development of proficiency through weekly quizzes and prescriptions in addition to case studies and independent double checks. Prerequisites
