| Description | This combined theory and practical lab assists the pharmacy technician student in developing the skills necessary to dispense prescriptions for patients requiring long-term care. Students will be introduced to long-term care and specialized long-term care from a community and hospital pharmacy perspective. Students have an opportunity to work with the diverse patient populations within the long-term care community. Opportunities will be provided for the development of proficiency through individual and group work, presentations and practice using prescriptions, pharmaceutical products and several long-term care drug-distribution methods. |
