Hiring an international co-op student is very similar to hiring a domestic co-op student. Both are work-ready and equipped with the right set of skills and life experiences to help meet your business goals. With many Centennial College students travelling from across the globe for their studies, our team makes it easy for employers to navigate the required documentation and criteria for hiring international co-op students.

- Their co-op or internship employment cannot form more than 50 percent of the total program of study.
When hiring an international co-op student, you should request to review the following:

- Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- Passport or other government-issued photo identification
- School enrolment document (i.e., transcript or enrolment letter)
Students hired for a co-op or field placement as a part of their academic program may additionally require a co-op work permit.
The student may be able to continue working for the same employer, depending on the conditions listed on their study permit. The student can contact the college’s International Student Advisors to confirm their work eligibility if they are uncertain.
