As for any international student, it was a tough journey to find my first job in Canada. I graduated in the middle of a pandemic and I had to learn how the job search works which is quite different from what I was used to. Knowing the best way to put in words a lifetime experience, which format is the best to be seen by employers, and how to express myself and sound confident were some of the challenges that I faced during this journey. The career advisor from Centennial was the greatest help that I had, not only for technical improvements but also to feel more confident during the preparation for interviews and to release some of the pressure.
My advice would be to get any Canadian experience, apply to as many jobs as possible so you can build along with the resume and get ready for the interviews. More applications more chances to get a job. Sometimes we feel that we will never find the right job, but if we persist and be patient we will get where we want, even though is a hard and long path.
