We are happy to award the 3 recipients of major awards at this year’s Student Recognition Awards. These awards recognize our students’ hard work and dedication in volunteer, leadership and other service-based roles. Special thanks to the Centennial College Student Association Inc, Centennial College Alumni Association, The Leadership Academy, and Transitions and Student Life for sponsoring these awards and helping to celebrate Centennial College’s student volunteering community.
Outstanding Student Leadership Award
This award recognizes a student who have demonstrated self-leadership, positively impacted others, and substantive impact on the Centennial College community. They have displayed various acts of leadership to create change and support others.
Harleen Chadha
President, Biotechnology Student Society – Organized and facilitated 50+ events, fostering student engagement and industry connections.
Social Media Manager – Led the club’s social media team to enhance outreach and engagement.
Mentor for New Students (Biotechnology and Food Science) – Guided first-year students in their transition to college life.
Peer Support Volunteer – Assisted students academically and socially, fostering an inclusive campus environment.
Centennial College and UofT Science Fair Volunteer – Contributed to the success of STEM outreach initiatives.
Care Package Initiative (CALCS) – Helped assemble and distribute care packages for students in need.
Volunteer, Convocation (Summer, Fall, Winter 2024) – Assisted in organizing and managing graduation ceremonies.
Volunteer, Orientation – Welcomed and guided new students during college orientation programs.
Career Fair and Networking Event Organizer – Helped connect students with industry professionals for career development opportunities.

This award recognizes an outstanding engaged Centennial student who demonstrates exemplary campus and/or community involvement. This is awarded to a full-time Centennial College student. This awarded student has gone above and beyond in their service-based role.
