An ISP is a letter which is co-created by the Counsellor and student during the intake appointment. The letter is created based on an assessment of the student’s functional limitations related to their disability. The ISP outlines the academic accommodations the student requires faculty to provide to meet the core competencies and learning outcomes of a course or program.
ISPs may be documented as Interim or Ongoing

- If you have an Ongoing ISP, you may use this document to inform your faculty member(s) of your accommodations each new semester
- If you have an Interim ISP, please ensure you meet with a CALCS Counsellor to review your ISP before your profile end date
- If at any time, you need to review or update your ISP or if you have questions about the next steps in receiving your accommodations, book an appointment with a Counsellor
- Students are responsible for providing their Individual Student Profile (ISP) to their faculty soon as it is available.
- Students are encouraged to discuss the required accommodations with each faculty member, as needed or at any point in the accommodation process. Students may request that a CALCS Counsellor facilitate accommodation discussions. Students are not required to share their personal disability related information or documentation, as this information remains confidential. A student has the right to choose to share any information regarding their diagnosis or needs, but this is not required.
