All members of the Centennial College (the "College") community have a right to work, study, and live in an environment that is free from sexual violence and/or sexual misconduct.
At Centennial College, the Sexual Violence Support Coordinator is part of the Centre for Accessible Learning and Counselling Services (CALCS) and helps students who have experienced sexual violence and/or sexual misconduct. This support includes:
- Providing Direct Student Support: The Coordinator is here to assist you if you want to share your experience or report an incident. Consultations are confidential and are meant to assist students in weighing their options in a safe, survivor-centered space.
- Helping You Learn Your Options: The Coordinator can help you in understanding your options and provide information to guide decision-making around reporting and/or next steps for your health and wellness.
- Planning for Safety: Your safety is our priority. The Coordinator can collaborate with you to create a safety plan, making sure you feel secure and supported.
- Connecting You to Services: Sometimes, you may require additional help from medical services or other support organizations. The Coordinator can refer you to the appropriate services based on your needs.
- Directing Faculty and Staff: The Coordinator is also a resource for Centennial faculty and staff providing consultation, education, training and support after receiving student disclosures of violence.
