Business Administration Leadership & Management, 2024
As Chair of the Alumni Advisory Committee, Joshua Ritz Gimotea is passionate about creating meaningful connections and giving back to the community that helped shape his personal and professional journey. Inspired by the belief that real change begins when people feel heard, Joshua joined the committee to help ensure alumni voices are represented in ways that create lasting impact for both graduates and the broader Centennial community.
For Joshua, the opportunity was about being part of something bigger than himself. He values collaboration, innovation, and the power of shared experiences, and saw the committee as a space where alumni can come together to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas, and create positive change. As Chair, he hopes to foster a welcoming and supportive environment where alumni continue to feel connected long after graduation. His vision includes creating opportunities for mentorship, networking, career development, and meaningful engagement that support alumni at every stage of their journey.
Joshua’s own experience at Centennial College played a significant role in shaping his career path. He credits the College for helping him build confidence, resilience, and a strong professional foundation through hands-on, practical learning experiences that prepared him for today’s competitive workforce. The lessons and skills he gained during his studies continue to guide him in his professional life.
One of the most defining milestones in Joshua’s career was beginning his role as an Account Manager at Mercedes-Benz Financial Services just one day after graduating in 2024. Stepping directly into the professional world challenged him to adapt quickly, communicate effectively, and grow under pressure - experiences that continue to shape him today.
Joshua encourages current students and recent graduates to remain resilient and not be discouraged by rejection. He believes success is not a race and that growth often comes through perseverance, adaptability, and continuing to show up for yourself even during uncertain moments. Through his role on the committee, he hopes to inspire alumni and students alike to stay connected, support one another, and continue creating impact beyond the classroom.
