Centennial College seeks funding to assist with contributing towards the full costs of its research activities.
The direct costs are essential expenditures that would not have been incurred had the grant not been undertaken. Accordingly, they can be directly assigned to the grant activities with a high degree of accuracy. They are directly connected with a specific research project, including salaries, wages and benefits of research personnel, materials and supplies, equipment, user fees, and travel expenses) of its research activities.
The indirect costs are the costs that are not directly connected with a specific project but with the research enterprise as a whole. Examples of indirect costs of research include: grant writing, management and administration of the grant, Libraries, and research labs and facilities maintenance, knowledge transfer and metrics collection among other things.
