The Dennis R. Murphy Memorial Scholarship

Picture of Dennis Murphy for whom the Dennis R. Murphy Memorial Scholarship is named

When Dennis Murphy joined the faculty of the School of Communications, Media, Arts and Design at Centennial College in January 2007, he brought with him a lifetime of experiences and achievements in the worlds of music, film and literature. His passion for a well-crafted story, whether his own or someone else's, was a common thread throughout his life.

In his all-too-brief time as professor in the Broadcasting - Radio, Television, Film & Digital Media program, Dennis inspired not only students but colleagues with his creativity, contagious enthusiasm and dedication to his craft. To celebrate those qualities and honour Dennis' memory, a scholarship fund has been established in his name.

The Dennis R. Murphy Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a full-time student in the final year of the Broadcasting - Radio, Television, Film & Digital Media program (6401) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. This scholarship recognizes a student who has written work produced in the program, and has displayed professionalism in teamwork and/or with a production unit, and/or as a writer.
