The Centennial College Financial Aid FAQ provides guidance on OSAP applications, scholarships, and bursaries, including eligibility requirements, deadlines, and how students apply and track funding through myCentennial.
Common Financial Aid Questions
There are three major forms of financial assistance available to our Centennial college students:
1. OSAP
The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a government-funded loans and grants program available to Ontario residents. Students can apply to receive funding for their tuition fees, textbooks, equipment, and living costs throughout their study period. OSAP is the primary source of financial assistance for our Ontario residents. More information can be found here: OSAP.
2. Bursaries
Bursaries are financial funds that the college provides for educational costs and living expenses while you are studying in school. Bursaries do not need to repaid. A list of our application bursaries can be found here: Bursaries.
3. Scholarships
Scholarships are financial funds that the college provides for academic and extracurricular achievements. Scholarships do not need to be repaid. A list of our application scholarships can be found here: Scholarships.
The steps to apply for OSAP can be found on our OSAP webpage.
To apply for Scholarships or Bursaries, students must complete our Scholarships and Bursaries Finder, and they must be registered for classes. When a Scholarship or Bursary is open, students can apply for these opportunities on our myCentennial website.
We will email our students about any Scholarship or Bursary opportunities at their myCentennial email address. Students must meet all the eligibility requirements of the award, or they will not gain access to apply for it.
The Scholarships and Bursaries Finder is a tool that matches you for Scholarships and Bursaries. Once you have completed this questionnaire, we will email you whenever there is a scholarship or bursary that you can apply for. Students must complete this questionnaire at least once per academic year, so we can give you access to apply for our scholarships and bursaries.
How to apply for the Scholarships and Bursaries Finder:
- Log in to our myCentennial webpage.
- Click on Student, found on the left side of the screen.
- Click on Financial Services.
- The Scholarships and Bursaries Finder link can be found on the new page.
First, complete and submit the Scholarships and Bursaries Finder.
Once completed, we will email you at your myCentennial email address whenever there is a scholarship or bursary that you can apply for. These emails will include details including when the awards are available, and how to apply for them.
Students can also find additional information on our Scholarships and Bursaries webpage.
International students will primarily have to find their own source of funding to pay for their education.
Scholarships are available to our international students, however they are not a guaranteed source of financial assistance. Scholarships typically will not be enough to cover all of your educational costs.
Bursaries are not available to international students at this time.
Scholarships typically require a lengthy selection timeframe. The selection process can take up to a few months. We will send you the results of your scholarship application as soon as we have selected a recipient.
Bursaries are decided rather quickly. We will have the results your bursary application in a few weeks, sometimes it can be the following day.
Contact our Student Financial Service Department and we will review the situation with you.
Current students can contact us through Centennial Access to Student Services (CASS) on the myCentennial website.
Our phone number is: 416-289-5300 Option 5.
