If you’re planning to go to college, you’re likely wondering what school is right for you. Do all the research you want, but nothing compares to physically being on campus, and seeing what the facilities and people are like for yourself. That’s the whole reason Open House events exist; for you to learn what it’s like to study here, discover the available services, such as financial aid and accessibility supports, explore extracurriculars, like clubs and sports, and uncover the countless details you won’t find online.
Open House is a good time to check out Centennial College, but our Summer Open House Days are a better time than usual, no matter what semester you’re thinking of applying for. They’ll be taking place July 23 – 29, from 12:30 to 4 P.M. Here’s a link to the schedule, along with links to register, and here’s why you’ll want to go:
1) A smaller setting, where you can meet everyone in person
Compared to Spring and Fall Open Houses at Centennial College, Summer Open House Days are smaller affairs, with fewer attendees, and this is a good thing. It means you’ve got more time to meet your professors and fellow students, as well as check out the available services at the College. When you visit one of our campuses, you’ll have the opportunity to see our spaces, find out about programming, and ask questions. And if you do it in the summer, it’s a quieter event, where you can make sure you learn everything you want to know about how we support our students’ journey to success, from day one to graduation, and beyond.
2) Different Open Houses for different career fields.
There’s a lot you can do at Centennial College, and each of our five campuses hosts a different set of programs. That’s why we don’t just have one Summer Open House, we have three of them. Know what program you’re looking for? Search for your program here to confirm which campus to visit. Or, read an overview of each campus and learning site to find which one is right for you. No matter which campus you go to, you’ll get to tour our state-of-the-art facilities, meet our dedicated faculty and staff, as well as current students, and explore a range of academic programming that’s specifically focused on what you want to learn, and what you want to become.
3) Apply for free!
Typically, there’s an administrative fee that comes with applying to college, including Centennial College. But, by attending the Summer Open House Days, you’ll have the chance to have this fee waived with a free application voucher. It all takes place at the end of each Open House Day, during a special “Applications and Appetizers” event. So, if you like what you see, you can start your journey on-site. And that’s not the only financial shortcut you can grab while at the Summer Open House Days.
4) Win $5,000 towards your education.
If you’re new to Centennial, you’ll also have the chance to win $5,000 deposited on your Centennial College myCard (your student ID) through a special contest. This can be used for campus purchases, including school supplies, textbooks, residence fees, food and more! While you’re at the Summer Open House Days, you’ll be able to submit an entry through one of our team members at an Application Station, meaning attending could literally pay off, in more ways than one.
Get ready to discover your potential and explore your future during Centennial’s Summer Open House Days, July 23 to 29. Whether you’re in high school, a recent graduate, considering a career change, or looking to explore new educational opportunities, you’ll want to register, and come see why we can set you up for success!
