Official Rules and Regulations
This Contest will run from September 1, 2019, through April 30, 2020. The contest will close on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) after which no further entries will be accepted. There is one (1) prize to be won from all eligible submissions received during the Contest Period. In the event that the winner does not meet the eligibility criteria or fails to comply with the Rules, the Prize will default to an alternate winner.
Centennial College is the Contest Sponsor.
Entry Terms: Eligible applicants are those who complete a Centennial College Recruitment Lead Card in the periods as outlined in Section 1. To be eligible, entrants must be citizens or permanent residents of Canada. Only one (1) entry is permitted per person. In the event it is discovered that any individual attempted to enter the Contest multiple times, that individual's duplicate entries will be voided. All entries are the property of Centennial College and none will be returned. By entering the Contest, the entrant agrees to comply with the Contest Rules outlined.
How to Enter: To enter, an entrant must fill out an official Centennial College printed Recruitment Lead Card available at Recruitment events, visits or fairs via a Recruitment Representative or online through centennialcollege.ca/win. Each entrant must provide their personal information (including, but not limited to, first name, last name(s), and e-mail address) and agree to receive email information from Centennial College about college events, promotions and services to which entrants can unsubscribe at any time. Entries that contain typographical errors, are altered, incomplete, inaccurate or irregular in any way that will be voided.
Prizes: One (1) Prize of $3,000 that is loaded on the student’s myCard, used to pay for Centennial College parking, and/or contribution to Centennial Place residence fees is available to be won. Entrants must enroll in a Centennial program for the 2020/21 academic year to collect the Prize. The Prize will be distributed no earlier than September 8, 2020. The Prize winner must claim the Prize within the date determined by the Contest Sponsor. Failure to claim the Prize will result in a forfeit. In the event the Prize winner is under the age of majority, he or she must receive written consent from a parent or guardian to accept the Prize.
Random Draw and Odds: The random draw of the Prize will take place on Monday, May 4, 2020, at Centennial College, Toronto, Ontario from among all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
Within 48-hours from the draw, Centennial College will attempt to contact the initial winner by e-mail to the e-mail address provided at the time of entry.
a) In the event that the potential winner cannot be contacted within the 48-hour period after the draw, he or she will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected. Proof of identification must be provided upon request. Before being awarded the Prize, the winner, or his or her parent or legal guardian in the event that the potential winner is under the age of majority at the time of prize distribution, will be required to sign and return within the time stipulated by the Contest Sponsor, a full release and indemnity form stating, among other things, that he/she has read and understood these official rules and regulations (“Rules”), grants all consents required and authorizes the Contest Sponsor to broadcast, publish and disseminate his/her name, city of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, in connection with any promotion or publicity, and/or for general news, entertainment and information purposes at no additional compensation to the winner, beyond the awarding of or participation in the Prize, he/she accepts the Prize as offered and releases the Contest Sponsor from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the winner's participation in this Contest, and as related to receipt and use of the Prize. Centennial College will not reproduce, publicize and/or broadcast any personal information for marketing or promotional purposes in order to maintain and respect all entrants’ privacy. Any personal information that is provided to Centennial College will be on a voluntary basis. The misuse of any personal information is strictly prohibited.
b) In the event that the winner does not comply with all the eligibility criteria and other provisions specified in these Rules, the Contest Sponsor will have the right to disqualify such winner and draw an alternate winner. At the time, the Contest Sponsor will be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard. The Contest Sponsor will then have the obligation to seek an alternate winner. All decisions made by the Contest Sponsor with respect to any aspect of the Contest are final.
c) The prize must be accepted as awarded. Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and not exchangeable for cash or other Prizes. Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize in whole or in part in the event that all or any component of the Prize is unavailable.
d) The odds of winning the Prize will depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. All entries that are incomplete, submitted through illicit means, or do not comply with the official rules or satisfy the criteria will be disqualified by Centennial College.
Conditions of Participation:
By participating in this Contest, the entrant agrees:
a) To be bound by these Contest Rules and the decisions of Centennial College, whose decisions are final;
b) To allow Centennial College to use the winner's name, city of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, recording, video footage or statements for editorial purposes without compensation other than the value of the Prize offered;
c) The winner must provide proof of age, proof of registration in an eligible program, and proof of residency/citizenship. The winners must return all necessary documents within seven (7) days following notification that the entrant has won or the Prize will be forfeited and will be awarded to an alternate entry.
The Contest is open to entrants who accurately complete the Centennial College Recruitment Lead Card and are attending Centennial College in the 2020-2021 academic year.
a) Persons who are ineligible for the Contest include:
i) Employees of Centennial College, corporate partners, spouses, parents, children, siblings and any person living in the same residence with them are ineligible to win Prizes. Similarly, all employees of all the public colleges in Ontario will also be ineligible to win Prizes;
b) By entering this Contest, it is acknowledged that the entrant has read, understood and will abide by these rules and regulations.
c) To be eligible for the draw, entries must be submitted by April 30, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) after which no further entries will be accepted.
The Sponsor will not be held responsible or bear any liability for:
a) Late-received, lost, misdirected, incomplete, illegible entries, which will be void, or for typographical or other production or distribution errors;
b) Entries which fail to comply with the Rules; and
c) Centennial College assumes no responsibility for failure of the internet or the website during the Contest Period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail system or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer or handset resulting from taking part in the Contest.
d) Centennial College will not be responsible for losses, damages or claims caused by or resulting from the Contest.
e) Contest Rules are subject to change without notice, if necessary, to comply with any applicable law or policy of Centennial College.
f) Centennial College may amend or terminate any of its Contests or any portion thereof at its discretion without advance notice.
g) All entries become the property of Centennial College and none will be returned.
h) This Contest will run in accordance with these Rules, subject to amendment by Centennial College. Entrants must comply with these Rules and will be deemed to have received and understood the rules by participating in the Contest. The terms of this Contest, as set out in these Rules, are not subject to amendment or counter-offer, except as set out herein.
i) All improper entries will be voided.
j) By participating in the Contest, the Prize winner agrees that his or her name, city of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, may be used in the recording, video footage or statements for editorial and news information purposes without compensation other than the value of the Prize offered.
k) The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
l) Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and not exchangeable for cash or other prizes.
m) If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the person matching the information presented to Centennial College at the time of entering the Contest will be deemed to be the entrant.
