As we take the month of February to reflect on the systemic and individual injustices faced by the diverse Black communities that are an important part of the fabric of our society, we at Centennial College are working diligently to help mitigate the unfair and oppressive ways that perpetrate anti-Black racism.

In order to honour and celebrate Black culture and people, Centennial College is proud to announce six (6) new scholarships to commemorate Black History Month.

Open to both international and domestic students, the Centennial College Black History Month Scholarships are valued at $1,000 each and will be awarded to students who meet the criteria below.

Scholarship criteria:

  • Awarded to full-time students who are in good academic standing with a minimum GPA 3.0, and registered in any ministry-approved program
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • Open to both international and domestic students
  • Preference will be given to students who self-identify members of diverse Black communities
  • Three (3) Domestic and three (3) International students will be awarded this scholarship

Four (4) scholarships will be awarded for the Winter 2021 term and two (2) scholarships will be awarded for the Summer 2021 term.

Interested students are required to fill out the Doorway to Dollars Questionnaire in order to be considered for scholarships including this one. Once you complete and submit it, you will receive notifications and invitations to apply for scholarships and/or bursaries that you may be eligible to apply for.

More details will be available on the College website in the near future.
