| Description | In this course, students will be introduced to the Canadian government's approaches to social policy. The readings will provide a historical examination of policy development that focuses on the political processes, social and economic forces that contribute to the development and implementation of public policies and social programs in response to social issues. Students will be able to identify which level of government is responsible for programs and services and will examine social issues from a structural analysis framework to distinguish between personal troubles and public issues.
