Description	Students will discuss social issues from a structural analysis framework to distinguish between personal troubles and public issues. An historical examination of policy development will focus on the political processes and the social and economic forces that contribute to the development and implementation of public policies and social programs in Canada in response to social issues. Course Learning Outcomes: Examine the political processes and the social and economic factors that influence the development of social policies and the delivery of social programs. Apply a structural analysis framework to assess and critique social issues affecting individuals, families, groups and communities within the larger social, political and economic context. Describe and apply case examples to illustrate the relationship between the personal and the political. Explore various concepts, frameworks and processes that continue to affect policy development.
