When the Ontario college strike seemed like it would never end, Centennial animation student Erick Inojosa didn’t let it affect his creativity or his passion.
When Inojosa heard the song “Go Up” by his childhood friend and songwriter Rubico, he knew he had to create something.
“The music really inspired me,” said Inojosa. “The song is about putting yourself up and not giving up. I’ve been through hard times and I really related to the message of the song.”
Inojosa’s instructor Dalibor Dejanović was “bedazzled” when he saw the music video.
“His work is fantastic,” said Dejanović. “People who are not in this industry don’t understand the amount of work, time and dedication that goes into creating something like that.”
Animation – 3D is an accelerated two-year diploma program that aims to prepare students for successful careers in animation, visual effects and creative effects. The program teaches its students everything from computer skills to storyboarding and how to navigate the job market.
Students pursue careers in film, television and video games.
Inojosa is currently doing his field placement at Sinking Ship Entertainment where the children’s television show “Dino Dana” is created.
“My advice to future students is to take advantage of everything the program has to offer including the teachers. Listen to them and learn from their critiques,” said Inojosa.
