The newest video for the Story Arts Centre can be described in four words: by students, for students.
Nate Horowitz, the school dean, says the video aimed to capture the student experience.
“We hired a grad student to shoot the video,” he said. “I wanted a student perspective more than a teacher perspective… it’s a different approach, but students would see they are the centre of it.”
Horowitz and Scott Hosmer, the Story Arts Centre's Marketing and Communications Officer, tried to create something closer to a “movie trailer” instead of a typical commercial.
It clearly worked, with the video already amassing over 36,000 views on Facebook.
Nate says although the campus is a full of “great energy, student ideas, collaboration and social justice,” it’s how students work together that set the Story Arts Centre apart.
“Nothing can be done by yourself, it’s not how we work at Centennial. It’s collaborative.”
