Steps to Graduate

Things to do in your last semester:

1. Ensure your mailing address and contact information on record is correct.
Ensure that your mailing address and contact information on file in the Enrolment Services Office is correct. If your address has changed, update your address online at myCentennial or complete a Change of Address form.

2. Ensure that all outstanding fees, fines, books and equipment are settled.
If you have outstanding fees, fines, books or equipment your credential will not be released.

3. Verify the name that will appear on your Diploma, Certificate or Degree.
If you notice a discrepancy, please bring proper identification and complete a Change of Name Form to the Enrolment Services Office or email a completed Change of Name Form with a copy of the proper identification to studentrecords@centennialcollege.ca to have the problem rectified.

4. Apply to Graduate.
You will need to apply to graduate by the Application to Graduate Deadline during the semester you complete your program requirements. Please refer to the Academic Planning Calendar to find the Application to Graduate Deadline and apply to graduate online through myCentennial.

If you are an International Student:

  • Check your study permit expiry – You need a valid study permit when applying for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), so make sure that your study permit is valid for at least a few months after your last day of classes.
  • Check your passport expiry – Your PGWP cannot be issued beyond your passport expiry date.
