Starting at a new school can sometimes feel like you are learning a new language, we have lots of different terms that may be new to you. Here are some common terms and their definitions that you may hear at Orientation, or during your first few days of classes.
An interactive welcome session where you will get to meet your instructors, support staff, and other students in your classes, to learn about what to expect in your classroom environment. Depending on your program this may also include getting fitted for equipment or uniforms for learning, touring a laboratory, or being informed of specific criteria that need to be met before classes start.

The start of your Centennial College journey. This one-hour session is hosted by the Transitions and Student Life team and CCSAI focusing on general information sharing for all new students and their supporters.
eCentennial is the online portal for all of your class information. This is where you will find your course outlines, course work, submit assignments, and more.
Experience Centennial MS Teams is your online social connection point. Join the New Student channel to connect with other students starting in your semester, see volunteer opportunities, social programs, and other ways to connect with other students.
headSTART is a pre-arrival program designed to help new students prepare for their first week of classes. headSTART is comprised of an online portal, a weekly email newsletter and a series of webinars dedicated to each of the three sections. New students have access to headSTART until the end of the second week of class, so make sure to check out all of the webinars before they are gone.
MyCentennial is your access point to all online services at Centennial College, paying your fees, building your timetable, applying for scholarships, and keeping your personal information up to date with the College is all done here.
A full day showcase of all Centennial College supports and services held during Orientation Day. The service fair highlights relevant and timely services for students that they need to know about before classes begin. This serves as a marketplace for you to access what you need in real time. Come prepared with questions, because we have answers.
