Christian Bordon

Global Business Management, Class of 2023

Christian Bordon’s journey from international student to recognized leader in the events industry is a testament to resilience, passion, and the power of mentorship. When he first arrived in Canada, he navigated the challenges of building a career in a new country, he still wondered where his path would lead.

Through determination, guidance from mentors, and hands-on experience, Christian not only found his footing but has since dedicated himself to paying it forward and helping others find their own paths. His initiative, EVENTual FRIDAYS, provides students and emerging professionals, including many international students, with mentorship, career guidance, and practical tools to launch successful careers in events. Through one-on-one sessions and small-group conversations, he empowers them to gain confidence, develop networks, and pursue opportunities they might otherwise have thought out of reach.

Christian’s impact extends beyond mentorship. In his role at BBW International Event Staff where he works as a National Account Manager, he has strengthened team culture, developed programs to nurture talent, and fostered an environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and growth. His leadership ensures that colleagues are inspired to learn, mentor and lead with integrity, creating a ripple effect that touches both the company and the broader events community.

Volunteerism and community involvement

Within the events industry, Christian actively mentors’ students from Centennial College, Humber College, and other institutions, providing guidance, career coaching, and networking opportunities that help emerging professionals—particularly international students, successfully launch their careers. In his spare time, he volunteers with The Dale Ministries, where Christian dedicates time to preparing meals, packing gifts, and supporting community programs that assist vulnerable populations.

Christian’s story and commitment serve as a model for what is possible when experience is shared generously. By investing his time, energy, and expertise in emerging professionals; particularly international students navigating unfamiliar systems, he has shaped careers, inspired confidence, and built a legacy of mentorship and empowerment that will influence the next generation of industry leaders.
