Jason Moseley

Hospitality and Tourism Administration, Class of 2004

Jason’s path to Centennial College was paved by a moment of maternal intuition. At a time when he was uncertain about his future, his mother - who was herself a student in the program, suggested he enroll in Hospitality and Tourism Administration, noting that the curriculum seemed almost tailor-made for his personality. She was right.

Under the mentorship of faculty, Jason found the professional direction he needed. It was also during this formative time that he encountered leaders who helped cultivate Jason’s passion for working with people.

Perhaps most significantly, it was his involvement with the Centennial College Student Association Inc. (CCSAI) that revealed his true love for event planning, a field he hadn't even known existed before entering the College. Starting as a Student Board Member between 2001 and 2004, Jason found his purpose in serving the student body, eventually receiving the CCSAI Spirit Award in 2004. This early immersion in governance and leadership became the direct blueprint for his 20-year career. Today, as he manages multi-million-dollar portfolios and leads complex operations at Toronto Metropolitan University, he carries the lessons learned in Centennial’s classrooms and boardrooms with him.

Volunteerism and community involvement

Jason commitment to community involvement is defined by a 25-year history of "giving back" to the sectors and neighbourhoods that shaped him. His volunteerism spans from national strategic leadership to grassroots community sports. At the national level, Jason was appointed to lead the Canadian Organization for Campus Activities (COCA) as the Chair of the National Conference Committee. In this volunteer capacity, he spearheaded the strategic planning and execution of Canada’s premier campus activities conferences.

Closer to home, Jason has dedicated nearly a decade to local community governance as the President of Durham Condominium Corporation #21. Beyond the boardroom, Jason is a fixture in local athletics, serving as a licensed softball umpire and a volunteer soccer coach for his daughter’s team. His community impact is further extended through his real estate business, where he sponsors local sports teams and hosts frequent educational seminars for home buyers and sellers.

Whether he is mentoring emerging leaders at a national conference or supporting a local youth team on the field, Jason’s volunteerism reflects the "Know, Like, Trust" philosophy he first began to cultivate at Centennial College.
