Vanshika Bhardwaj

Biotechnology – Advanced (Fast-Track), Class of 2025

Vanshika Bhardwaj’s decision to pursue her Biotechnology Advanced Diploma program at Centennial was a key turning point that harnessed her academic interests and transformed them into practical, career-ready skills.

Her work in biotechnology research, student leadership, and inclusive learning support has consistently contributed to improving access to education, communication, and collaboration for diverse groups.

Through Centennial’s applied learning model, Vanshika developed technical competencies in laboratory practices, scientific documentation, data analysis, and quality-focused workflows. These skills directly contributed to her ability to participate in industry-facing research projects at the Wearable, Interactive and Mobile Technology Access Centre in Health (WIMTACH) research and development centre at Centennial where she continues to build on her academic knowledge and innovate real-world applications in the field of wearable biotechnology as Co-Principal Investigator.

In her current role, Vanshika is focused on an AI-driven food safety and predictive modelling project with Griffith Foods, where she supports data validation, microbial and shelf-life analysis, documentation, and communication between research and industry stakeholders.

Centennial’s supportive and diverse learning environment also reinforced Vanshika’s belief in accessible education. Inspired by faculty mentorship and inclusive learning values experienced during her own studies, she now tutors a biotechnology student with a learning disability and supports a child with autism through structured communication and development activities, extending the impact of her education beyond the classroom.

Community Involvement

Within her academic community, Vanshika extended her commitment to volunteerism through her leadership as Executive Manager of the BioSS Club at Centennial College. In this role, she organized networking events, peer mentorship initiatives, and academic support programs that connected students with alumni and industry professionals. She also helped initiate bursary support efforts through community-building events, creating opportunities for financial assistance while reinforcing her commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.

Beyond the college community, Vanshika volunteered as a Research Analyst with the African Food Research Network. Through this role, she supports research that connects academic knowledge to real-world food system challenges in African communities. By assisting with literature reviews, research coordination, and academic communications, she contributes to collaborative research efforts focused on food security, agri-food innovation, capacity building, and building more resilient food systems.

Vanshika’s story reflects how applied education, mentorship, and opportunity at Centennial can empower students to build impactful careers while helping others succeed. Her experience inspires prospective students to pursue Centennial programs as pathways to both professional growth and social impact.
