This Pride Season, we’re proud to highlight a powerful initiative happening at The Local Restaurant at Centennial College.
From May 26 through June 30, student servers at The Local will be donating 100% of their gratuities to the LGBTQ+ Pride Bursary—a vital fund that supports 2SLGBTQ+ students facing financial hardship, many of whom are navigating challenges like family estrangement or lack of safe housing.
Even more impactful? The Centennial College Student Association (CCSAI) has committed to matching all funds raised in June, up to $20,000—the largest match in Pride Fundraiser history! That means every dollar you tip becomes two—directly helping students in our community thrive.
This initiative is more than just a fundraising effort. It’s about standing in solidarity with 2SLGBTQ+ students and ensuring they feel seen, supported, and valued.
