Ableism is a form of discrimination against people with physical, mental, or developmental disabilities.

These are everyday verbal or behavioural interactions that send negative, harmful messages and insults toward minoritized people.

Anti-Black racism is prejudice, attitudes, beliefs, stereotyping or discrimination that is directed at people of African descent and is rooted in their unique history and experience of enslavement and colonization.

Islamophobia is a form of racism that is an irrational fear of Islam and a hatred or dislike of Muslims, or those perceived to be Muslim.

An irrational dislike, fear or hatred of transgender people or people who are perceived as not meeting society’s expectations around gender roles, appearance or behaviour.

We recognize that there are a disproportionate number of environmental burdens impacting historically marginalized communities.

An irrational fear or hatred of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and others from the LGBTTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, two-spirit, trans and queer) spectrum.

Social Justice is a process, not an outcome, which seeks fair redistribution of resources, opportunities, and responsibilities, challenges the roots of oppression and injustice, empowers all people to exercise self-determination and realize their full potential and builds social solidarity and community capacity for collaborative action.
