View Islamophobia Social Action Card.
Islamophobia is a form of racism that is an irrational fear of Islam and a hatred or dislike of Muslims, or those perceived to be Muslim. Fear has led some to discriminate against, demonize and dehumanize Muslims. Political conflict, globalization and social media have led to negative attitudes, violence, harassment, discrimination and stereotyping of Muslims.

Women who have chosen to wear the hijab do so as a sign of faith, like wearing the cross or yarmulke.
Islam is connected to hatred and terrorism.
Islam has been widely misportrayed by the media. The religion of Islam is centred on faith, hope and peace.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam are monotheistic, Abrahamic faiths that share common beliefs in the oneness of God, prophets, divine revelation, angels and Satan. There are more similarities than differences.
