The total costs for students is comprised of two components; Tuition and fees (ancillary and incidental).
Tuition
You are investing your money in paying tuition for quality education. The costs for quality industry experts as instructors and robust success services in quality learning environments, whether delivered in-person or online, are similar. We will continue to provide that quality regardless of the mode of delivery.
To maintain the quality of education, tuition costs have no room for flexibility – evidenced by the fact that no college across the Ontario system is in a position to reduce tuition.
Ancillary and Incidental Fees
What are ancillary fees?
Ancillary fees are vital to supporting student services provided by the College and the Centennial College Student Association (CCSAI). Ancillary fees are determined through a collaborative review completed by the Board of Governors and the CCSAI.
All ancillary fees are mandatory and non-negotiable. Domestic students who are already covered by an extended health and dental plan may opt-out of the Health and Dental Insurance fee. Visit CCSAI's Health and Dental Coverage for details and deadlines.
On November 21, 2019, the Divisional Court of Ontario overturned the Student Choice Initiative, a directive introduced by the Ontario Provincial Government in January 2019. As a result, Centennial College has suspended the option to opt-out of non-essential fees for the Fall 2020 term. If you are enrolled in Fall 2020 courses, you will be charged all ancillary fees, even if you opted out of some or all the non-essential ancillary fees in the previous year.
Certain programs have an additional fee for learning materials and supplies.
The College undertakes robust scrutiny when determining academic tools (required course materials, textbooks, e-texts, and online resources, etc.) to ensure that they support student academic success in a meaningful way and bring value to both the student experience and program delivery. E-texts and digital learning materials support instruction and assessment and contain a depth and breadth of learning resources and tools.
