What is Engagement Week?
Engagement Week serves as a component of Centennial’s ongoing commitment to supporting student success. Engagement Week (Reading Week) offers students an opportunity to participate in virtual and in-person events that include personal development sessions, skill building programs and social gatherings. We invite you to take this week to do what you need to recharge, catch up, reconnect or take a break!
What can we expect from Engagement Week?
For the Summer 2025 Engagement Week, there will be both indoor and outdoor activities that allow you to take full advantage of the winter time in Toronto and the surrounding area. Please check the Engagement Week page for updates about events and registrations.
Events and activities happening during engagement include:
Date: Saturday, June 21, 2025
Time: 12 p.m.
Location: Garrison Common, Fort York (250 Fort York Boulevard, Toronto)

Noon – Grand Entry with the Na-Me-Res Pow Wow Host Steve Teekens (Ensure to arrive ahead of the 12:00 p.m. Grand Entry)
4 p.m. – Na-Me-Res Pow Wow Closing Ceremony
Join CCSAI, The Eighth Fire, and our Indigenous Student Representatives as we come together to honour and celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day at the Na-Ma-Res Pow Wow. This vibrant community gathering features traditional drumming, dancing, craft and food vendors, cultural teachings, and more.
We’re offering free round-trip transportation to and from Garrison Common, departing from your preferred Centennial College campus—register by June 18 at 11:00 a.m. to secure your seat!
On your registration for you will select your preferred departure campus. You will be sent an Uber Transportation Voucher eligible for transportation between your preferred Centennial College campus and the Fort York Historic Site. Please be sure you provide us with the correct phone number and email to receive your Uber voucher.

The Pow Wow grounds is a sacred space. Please be respectful and take note of the following:
- Listen to the Na-Me-Res Host to understand protocols. The Host will note when to stand, e.g. during the Grand Entry, when to remove your hat and when it is okay to take photos.
- Always ask permission before taking photos of dancers in regalia.
- Never touch a dancer’s regalia.
- Smoking is considered disrespectful in the Pow Wow circle.
- Alcohol, drugs and firearms are not permitted.
- No dogs please. Service animals are exempt.
- Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Join the Transitions and Student Life Team as Centennial College takes a trip to the Toronto Zoo on June 23, 2025.
Meet at the front of the Zoo at 9:30 a.m. to ensure a smooth sign in process. All Centennial College students are asked to bring the following:
- Student myCard
- Confirmation of current full-time enrolment
- This trip is exclusively for current Centennial students. All participating students are required to complete a waiver. Friends and family are welcome to attend; however, they will be responsible for purchasing their own admission to the zoo.

Join the Transitions and Student Life Team and Peer Mentorship Programs as Centennial College takes a trip to the Toronto Island on June 24, 2025.
Meet at the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, 9 Queens Quay W, Toronto, ON M5J 2H3 at 9:30 a.m. to ensure a smooth sign in process. All Centennial College students are asked to bring the following:
- Student myCard
- Confirmation of current full-time enrolment
- This trip is exclusively for current Centennial students. All participating students are required to complete a waiver. Friends and family are welcome to attend; however, they will be responsible for purchasing their own admission.
The ferry will be leaving at 10:20 a.m., if you arrive after the ferry departs, you will have forfeited your place at the event

Centennial has a float in the 2025 Pride Parade and we want you to come celebrate Pride with the Queering Community Student Collective (QCSC)! Join 2SLGBTQQIA+ students, employees, alumni and allies as we march through the streets to celebrate Pride.
Attendees receive a Centennial Pride t-shirt and fan or clapper while supplies last!
