What is an Apprentice?

An apprentice is someone who learns a skilled trade on the job under the direction of a certified tradesperson.  Also, apprentices attend in-school curriculum training to complete levels 1, 2 and/or 3, alternating with work.

Becoming an apprentice can be an important first step to learning new skills and building a rewarding career.  One of the benefits of an apprenticeship is you can earn money while you learn.  Apprenticeships vary in length from two to five years, depending on the trade.
