To Enter

Entering the Contest is free. You may enter in one of the following ways during the Contest Period:

  1. Complete a paper entry form during any official Centennial College recruitment event/visit by providing, at minimum, your name and email address; or
  2. Submit an online form through centennialcollege.ca/win; or
  3. Register online for or during an official Centennial College recruitment event or tour; or

There is a limit of one (1) entry per individual regardless of the method of entry. All entries must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on August 31, 2025 (the “Contest Closing Date”). If an entrant enters more than once the entrant may be disqualified and all their entries disqualified. Mandatory completion of the online or paper entry form is necessary for an entrant’s chance of winning. By entering, entrants who provide consent will receive future emails from Centennial for informational and promotional purposes.

All entries become the sole property of Centennial and will not be returned. Centennial will not be responsible for lost, late, delayed, illegible, incomplete or misdirected entries or for any change of email address, mailing address and/or telephone number. Centennial assumes no responsibility for failure of the internet or websites during the Contest Period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network lines, online computer systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email system or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website, or for anything else associated with the Contest or the Prize.

By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules (the “Official Rules”) and all decisions of Centennial, which are final in all matters relating to this Contest.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Contest, an individual must be a new, incoming, student starting a full-time program at Centennial in September, January or May following the end of the Contest Period. The contestant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.

In the event of a dispute, entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry.  “Authorized account holder” is defined as the person who is assigned an email address by an internet provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institute, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.  If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder associated with the email account at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant.  The selected entrant may be required to provide proof that they are the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected entry name change.

Persons ineligible to win the Contest include employees of Centennial and immediate family members (defined as parents, guardians, children, siblings or spouses), regardless of where they reside.

The Draw

A random draw will be held on or around September 7, 2025 from among all eligible entries received by Centennial by the Contest Closing Date. The first eligible entry drawn will be eligible to win the Prize. The selected entrant will be contacted by email or telephone at the email address and/or number set out on the entry form.

The selected entrant will be required to successfully answer a time-limited, unaided, mathematically-based skill-testing question before the Prize will be awarded. There is one (1) prize to be won from among all the eligible entrants received during the Contest Period. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by the Contest Closing Date.

Prize

One prize (the "Prize") consisting of five thousand Canadian dollars ($5,000) loaded on the Prize winner’s student myCard, used to pay for Centennial College parking and/or contribution to Centennial Place residence fees, is available to be won.

To be eligible to win and to be able to use the funds loaded on the myCard, the selected entrant must enrol as a new student in a full-time degree, advanced diploma, diploma or graduate certificate program in the September, January, or May semester following the end of the Contest Period. To be eligible, the selected entrant must have been accepted and confirmed Centennial’s offer of admission for full-time studies and pay the applicable deposit by the deposit deadline.

The selected entrant must sign a declaration that (i) provides Centennial with the entrant’s full name (printed) and signature;  (ii) contains the correct answer to the skill-testing question (which must be answered by the entrant without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise);  (iii) contains a statement that the entrant has read, understood and complied with these Official Rules and the entrant is eligible to enter according to these Official Rules; (iv) grants Centennial permission to use the winner’s name, likeness, and area of residence for the purposes of print, broadcast, digital or other advertising without further compensation.

In the event that the selected entrant has not yet reached the age of 18 years or the age of majority in the selected entrant’s province or territory of residence, then the selected entrants’s parent/legal guardian must sign the declaration to confirm compliance and consent with these Official Rules and to accept the Prize on behalf of the minor.

The Prize will only be awarded upon winner validation and verification. If a selected entrant is unable or unwilling to comply with these Official Rules, or if the entrant cannot be reached after three attempts, or if there is an notification that the email is undeliverable, the entry will be disqualified and another entry will be randomly drawn from the remaining eligible entries until such time as the Prize is awarded or there are no more eligible entries.

No cash alternative or substitution of the Prize is provided, except that Centennial, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the Prize is unavailable for any reason.

Without limiting the generality of any other terms set out in these Official Rules, the following general conditions apply to the Prize: (i) By accepting the Prize, the winner agrees to waive all recourse against Centennial, its governors, officers, employees, agents, successors and assigns for any reason whatsoever including if the Prize or a component thereof does not prove satisfactory, either in whole or in part; and (ii) Prize must be accepted as awarded without substitution, is not transferable, not for resale and has no cash surrender value.

Any additional costs (including compulsory non-tuition-related fees, parking or locker fees or fees associated with visas or work permits) and any applicable taxes associated with the Prize and incurred by the winner are the sole responsibility of the winner and not the responsibility of Centennial. Centennial is not responsible for any changes to grants or loans received from the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) associated with awarding the Prize.

All federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations apply. By accepting their Prize, the winner agrees to hold harmless Centennial and its respective affiliates, governors, employees, advertising and promotion agencies, and assigns against any and all claims and liability (including, but not limited to, liability for any property loss, damage, personal injury or death) arising out of the use of the Prize. By participating in this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by the official rules and the decisions of Centennial.

Amending the Contest

Centennial reserves the right to terminate or suspend this Contest or to amend the Official Rules at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Centennial that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this game, Centennial reserves the right at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and to award the Prize from among all eligible entries received prior to (or after, if applicable) action taken by Centennial. Centennial reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest (including, but not limited to, any non-human mechanism, entity) to be acting in violation of the Official Rules, or to be acting in an unfair or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the Contest will be ineligible to win.
